Oli gives us an update on the former Motivation Research Team’s participation in the annual EMPAMOS barcamp, where they connected with the community, shared their research, and explored new ideas for enhancing teamwork and leadership.

Strengthening Connections With the EMPAMOS Community

In November 2024, five members of the former Motivation Research Team attended the yearly bar camp of the EMPAMOS project in Nuremberg, Germany. Our goal was to connect with the EMPAMOS community and to present our work.

EMPAMOS is a research project, a community around the project, and a methodology for analyzing and improving work structures to be more productive and motivating.

Sharing Research and Future Plans

We gave a session about the current state of research on how trust works. We also presented our plans for building a TYPO3-based web platform to help lead and organize teams based on modern leadership principles and work psychology.

Exploring New Ideas

In addition, we attended quite a few other sessions on inspiring topics and ideas, including:

  • Digital mindfulness
  • Research on game mechanics
  • Emotions in games
  • Using 3D worlds for learning

Closing Thoughts

For anyone passionate about transforming workplace dynamics, consider getting involved with EMPAMOS. You could help shape the future of collaborative work practices and make a meaningful impact on how your teams interact and achieve their goals.
