Exactly one year ago, the team behind Neos released the very first version of the software we build – what was then dubbed TYPO3 Neos 1.0. This December, we’re very happy to announce the release of the third major version. Now version 1.2 is available and it comes with a plethora of new features.

A lot of things have happened in the last few months. First off we had to take some time off after 6.2 LTS because it’s been a huge effort to make that release happen. But we did not really quit, we merely took the time to take a closer look at our workflows, team structure, overall motivation and most important of all… our vision for the future.

The BIG Neos code sprint, Neos compendium translators needed, TYPO3camps, community counts and Dynamic Content Elements.

Right after the CMS Team meeting in Hannover 17 people met in sunny (*cough, cough*) Hamburg, Germany for another codesprint. Read about the results:

At TYPO3 Camp Rhine Ruhr 2014 Fiona Hasenau did a session on "Community Diversity". Many people were interested in this topic and the session had a great mix of old veterans and newcomers, attending their first camp.

The TYPO3 Eastern Europe Conference took place in Cluj, Romania on October 31 and November 1, 2014. Andrea Herzog Kienast describes the atmosphere, how we party, and how we are very serious in our work we do for TYPO3 even when we dance.

The first beta of TYPO3 Neos version 1.2 has been released for testing.

September started with the TYPO3camp Munich followed by the Active Contributor Meeting of the TYPO3 CMS team. In the second half of September there was the user experience week in the Harz. The 10th TYPO3 conference took place in Berlin from October 8 - 10. This month ended with the Dutch TYPO3 congress on Tuesday October 28 and I am writing all this from TYPO3 Eastern Europe an international TYPO3 event in the heart of Transylvania. Great to be here for halloween.
