Here comes the latest release of TYPO3 4.4. We've just hit feature freeze, and are now entering the last phase on the road to the final release of TYPO3 4.4.0, which is scheduled to be published on June 22nd, 2010.

TYPO3 Phoenix (aka "version five") undoubtedly is a big venture. And despite its long history, the intermediate results are hard to grasp and virtually invisible to the majority of the TYPO3 community. However, there's a good chance that this will change now: Firstly the foundational work necessary for the CMS part is almost complete. And secondly we will now extend the agile approach we've taken with FLOW3 to the Phoenix project. In essence that means: visible results and a release each month, starting only a few weeks from now.

We're happy to announce this years edition of the TYPO3 Developer Days. The fifth edition of this international TYPO3 community event, also known as T3DD, will take place from Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th July, 2010. The location for the event will once more be the Nordakademie Elmshorn, near Hamburg in Germany.

At the annual meeting of the TYPO3 Association Jürgen Egeling has taken over the chairmanship previously held by Kasper Skårhøj. Juergen Egeling is the CEO of a Karlsruhe-based TYPO3 Agency, that has supported the TYPO3 project for years now, including the organization of the annual TYPO3 conference T3CON. Jan Christe of <link www.t3n.de>t3n Magazine asked the new chairman of the TYPO3 Association a few questions about his plans and the biggest challenges facing the TYPO3 project.

Friday, March 26 marked the return of the Bug Days after several months of winter sleep. It was a very successful rebirth.

This last week the projects for GSoC 2010 were announced and TYPO3's application for Google Summer of Code was amongst the accepted projects. We are again participating and have already determined ways on how to improve the experience of working with the TYPO3 community. We already got quite a number of student applications, but are keen on also having you on board.

During this year's TYPO3 Snowboard Tour in Laax (Switzerland) the third episode of the bug auction was held in which people had the possibility to bid for their favourite bugs to be solved.
