In this article we describe a set of changes to establish the new Active Contributor role. It is a move towards a more open collaboration in development. The article is addressed at contributors of the TYPO3 CMS core and we like to share it with you.

The event season started again with CMS-garden at CeBIT in Hannover and the first TYPO3camp of the year in Venlo, The Netherlands and there were two code sprints. We have a lot of exciting events coming up this year.

The European TYPO3 Conference 2013 will be held from Tuesday October 29 - Thursday October 31 in Filderhalle, Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Stuttgart, Germany. The conference concept for this year is new, exciting, different and hot. You want to be there.

The biggest conference dedicated to the new family members of the TYPO3 project, Neos and Flow, is taking place next week.

I’m happy to announce that TYPO3 has been accepted as a mentoring organization in Google Summer of Code 2013. This is the 4th year we participate. Congrats to all accepted organizations, and a big thanks to everyone who helped to make this happen for TYPO3!

The eighth edition of the TYPO3 Developer Days will take place from July 4 - 7, 2013 at ELBCAMPUS, Hamburg, Germany. Ticket sale starts tomorrow April 2 at 12pm.

It was the first TYPO3camp this year and the first TYPO3camp in the Netherlands, ever, taking place this weekend in Venlo. Close to the German and Belgian border it brought a lot of attendants from both countries. Besides that the Romanian presence really gave the event, with 86 attendants, an international feel.
