By partnering with local TYPO3 agencies, the project aims to make certifications more accessible and convenient. The pilot’s success will guide expansion to other cities, with a decision expected early next year.
Making Exams More Convenient
TYPO3 plays an important roleI in the world of content management systems, and the demand for official certifications is high. Currently, these certifications can be obtained on-site either at TYPO3 Camps or other official TYPO3 events. Alternatively, TYPO3 GmbH offers an online exam tool for certifications. However, we have noticed that participants face challenges when using online tools and there are many people who prefer to take their certification exams in person. To address these needs, we have launched a pilot project to offer on-site certification in various cities at scheduled times.
New In-Person Certification Opportunities Announced
We have decided to start by offering on-site certifications in the German cities of Cologne (at Schaffrath DigitalMedien) and Hamburg (at F7 Media), with more locations to be announced soon. These events will be held at the premises of local TYPO3 agencies and, due to the location and the nature of the pilot project, the number of participants per certification event will be limited.
The main idea behind holding on-site certifications in major cities is to minimize the travel distance for participants from the surrounding areas. In addition, the scheduled dates are chosen so as not to clash with other certification events.

Outlook for the Future
If the pilot proves successful, we plan to extend the offering to other major cities. Our goal is to provide as many TYPO3 enthusiasts as possible with a convenient and accessible way to obtain their certification in person. We look forward to receiving feedback from participants and hope that our offer will be well received. Early next year we will decide whether to continue and expand the pilot.
