TYPO3 Association Board: Mathias Bolt Lesniak is our new first assessor
January 03, 2017
Mathias Bolt Lesniak
In November 2016 Mathias Bolt Lesniak was elected as first assessor of the TYPO3 Association by the Expert Advisory Board. He takes over the responsibility for the press and communications work from Olivier Dobberkau, who held this position as interim for a year.
Increasing TYPO3’s visibility worldwide
In Mathias’ opinion, the biggest challenge for TYPO3 today is its lack of visibility outside of Central Europe. While on the shortlist for most website customers in Germany, the CMS is not well known abroad. His goal for 2017 is to help increase TYPO3’s visibility outside of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
A Norwegian with TYPO3 experience
Mathias was born in Oslo, Norway, in 1983. He grew up at Nesodden, a peninsula south of the city, where he went to kindergarten and Waldorf School. He studied computers and has been involved in numerous non-profit initiatives. Mathias is still living at Nesodden, now with his Kiwi wife and two boys.
Mathias has been using TYPO3 since 2003, and is a certified TYPO3 integrator. He has been a member of the TYPO3 Association since 2008.
At the beginning of 2016, Mathias’ business merged with Pixelant, the renowned TYPO3 Agency in Malmö, Sweden. He is now running Pixelant’s Norwegian office.
“There are a couple of things about TYPO3 that really make me tick,” says Mathias. The first thing he mentions is the project’s stability over time: “TYPO3’s code has been improved continuously over the last 20 years. I think you will have a hard time finding a content management system with a similar track-record. You can do real long-term planning with TYPO3.”
The second thing is how TYPO3 helps you create good websites for the visitors: “I love how the page tree helps you keep a well-organized content hierarchy, and the content elements help you to divide your page into clear sections. That is in a world where major CMS-es still present a one-dimensional list of pages, and content as a single text field. We are at the leading edge without even trying!”
