UPDATE - The TYPO3 Core Development Team comes to Italy (canceled)

We are very sorry to announce that we have to cancel the codesprint. Due to the Expo taking place in Milano, we were not able to strike a deal with a hotel to provide accomodation for an acceptable price. As we are not willing to spend too much of the money of our budget, that comes in the end from the members of the TYPO3 Association, on double prices for a city in fair fever, we decided to come back to Milano and Italy to a better time. So for the announced october date, there will be no event. But stay tuned, we will be back. ---------- This is the original news --------- Since the start of development for TYPO3 version 7, whose LTS version will be released in fall 2015, the core development team tries to appear in many places in person. We participate to TYPO3 camps, our leaders join conferences and talk about the development state and the direction TYPO3 is heading to. Additionally, the amount of codesprints we do has increased. Several agencies or users have offered to host such a sprint. This offers are highly appreciated, and we are sorry we can’t be everywhere and visit everyone. In this way we get the chance to go to many places and  we are happy to invite the local community to join us and get to know the faces behind the system; but the highest goal for us is to gain contributors. During our codesprints there is the best chance to learn how everyone can help to make TYPO3 better and influence its development. The knowledge gained by contributing is tremendous, and the contacts are a valuable addition. So, we will be in Milano from October 3rd until October 7th, at the Reply Office at Via Robert Koch, 1/4 - 20152 Milano. There is room for circa 20 people. Some of the core development people are coming, and we want to meet the local community. Everybody is welcome, for a visit, a coffee, a word, a day, all days. Whatever suits your needs and schedule. If you are a developer and you are ready to invest some time into learning the contribution workflow, we will strive to get a first patch merged into the core during the event. If you are a documentation writer (or just feel the documentation could benefit from some attention), we will give you all you need to leave traces in our documents. There is no limitation to the participation except for the space we have: everybody is welcome. And everybody is needed, no reason not to come. We will find out what you can do, even if you doubt it yourself. If you join us, you have the right to have your travel expenses reimbursed and a hotel room is given to you, if needed. Just let us know, we want to meet you. There are two ways to sign up to the sprint (ideally you do both): 

• join Slack, our communication platform by requesting your free account here: forger.typo3.org/slack, then join the channel #typo3-cms and #typo3-cms-codesprint. Speak up in the codesprint channel, then someone will guide you
• add yourself to the Wiki: wiki.typo3.org/Development/Sprints/2015/Oktober/Milano

Il TYPO3 Core Development Team arriva in Italia.

Dall’inizio dello sviluppo di TYPO3 versione 7, la cui versione LTS verrà rilasciata in autunno 2015, il core development team prova a visitare il maggior numero di posti possibili. Partecipiamo ai TYPO3 camps e i nostri leader sono presenti alle conferenze per spiegare qual’è la situazione di TYPO3 CMS and che strada sta prendendo. Inoltre, il numero di codesprints è aumentato. Parecchie agenzie o users hanno offerto di ospitarci per uno sprint. Queste offerte sono altamente apprezzate dal team e ci dispiace di non riuscire a fare visita a tutti.  In questo modo, abbiamo la possibilità di visitare posti diversi e di invitare la community locale a partecipare agli sprint e a conoscere le facce che stanno dietro al sistema. L’obiettivo principale rimane pero’ quello di aumentare il numero di contrbuzioni. Durante i nostri codesprints ognuno ha la possibilità unica di imparare e capire come puo’ contribuire a rendere TYPO3 migliore e ad influenzarne lo sviluppo. La conoscenza acquisita durante un codesprint è enorme; inoltre in questo modo si conoscono altre persone che condividono lo stesso interesse e la stessa passione per TYPO3.  Quindi: saremo a Milano tra il 3 ed il 7 ottobre, presso l’ufficio di Reply (via Robert Koch ¼ - 20152 Milano). Li c’è spazio per circa 20 persone. Alcuni membri del core development team saranno presenti e vorrebbero conoscere la community locale. Ognuno è benvenuto, sia per fare visita, per un caffè, per scambiare una parola, per un giorno, o per tutta la durata dello sprint, dipendendemente dalla propria disponibilità. Che tu sia un developer con voglia di investire del tempo per capire il workflow della contribuzione, o un fan della documentazione, troveremo sicuramente qualcosa da fare per te. Non ci sono limiti per quanto riguarda i partecipanti, se non quelli dettati dallo spazio disponibilie. Abbiamo bisogno di ognuno di voi, non c’è ragione per non partecipare.  Se ti va di partecipare, sappi che le tue spese di viaggio saranno rimborsate e che avrai una stanza in hotel a disposizione. Facci sapere come ti vuoi organizzare, noi ti aspettiamo.  Ci sono due modi per registrarsi allo sprint (l’ideale sarebbe seguirli entrambi):

• entra su Slack, la piattaforma di comunicazione della community, e richiedi il tuo account gratuito su forger.typo3.org/slack - entra sui canali #typo3-cms e #typo3-cms-codesprint. Fatti sentire e vedrai che qualcuno si prenderà cura di guidarti
• aggiungiti alla nostra Wiki: wiki.typo3.org/Development/Sprints/2015/Oktober/Milano
