Third Info Bulletin Certification Team

Categories: Community Created by Sander Vogels
The Certification Team had it's already second meeting this year in Zurich, Switzerland. Being scheduled one day after the Association's General Assembly, the meeting brought great progress.
The team has undergone some personnel changes this year. Three members left being too occupied with their private and business lives. One new member joined, Tobias Hauser from Arrabiata Solutions GmbH. His company being professionally involved in the German Php Certification makes Tobias a great addition to our team. His knowledge of the subject already has speeded the process up.

The current status is that the types and levels of certification are defined and the requirements for each have been outlined. The structure of the needed certification organization and the different bodies it will contain have also been defined. The team now is talking with different companies about delivering the world-wide infrastructure and helping to translate our effort into real life. Meanwhile we're working on the content by creating a didactic, educational framework that sets the standard for the outline of the questions. In normal language; what kind of questions do we use, how many questions do we ask, which level of knowledge should we tackle et cetera. Studying and comparing certification schemes that have already proven themselves, has to lead to a TYPO3 Certification Process that is based on best practises.

The Team's kick-off target for individual certification on basic level is still set on October 2007. We like to thank Target-E for the donation they made to the Certification Team. Our effort partly depends on such donations so don't hesitate if you want to make a contribution. For questions about our team, the certification process or how to make a donation, please send all your inquiries to <link>certification@typo3.org.
