Documentation and TYPO3 CMS 6.0

Categories: Community, Documentation Created by François Suter
The goal of this article is to give the community a short overview of the current state of the official documentation with regards to the release of TYPO3 CMS 6.0.
The new location for the official documentation is <link http: docs.typo3.org new official documentation web>docs.typo3.org. At some point, the documentation will be integrated back into typo3.org, but for now it stands on its own server. This enables us (the Documentation Team) to keep tuning the rendering independently for the time being. The reference manuals are up to date: <link http: docs.typo3.org typo3cms typoscriptreference the tsref>TSref, <link http: docs.typo3.org typo3cms tsconfigreference the tsconfig>TSconfig and <link http: docs.typo3.org typo3cms tcareference the tca reference>TCA Reference are all up to date with the latest properties introduced in TYPO3 CMS 6.0. Some more updates would be needed, in particular to reflect the changes to the good old "localconf.php" file, but at least all properties are documented. <link http: docs.typo3.org typo3cms coreapireference core apis>Core APIs was far more outdated and is now up to date with TYPO3 CMS 4.5. We hope to bring it fully up to date in the coming weeks. Unfortunately many other manuals are outdated, including all the important ones for beginners. Our resources are stretched thin and any help is welcome. In the coming weeks we are probably going to regularly update the existing manuals, without making full-fledged releases. We will keep the community informed of the changes via the <link http: forge.typo3.org projects team-docteam news pages of the documentation>Forge news. Hopefully we can find a way to indicate what's up to date and what's not at page level.
