You’re invited to complete a community survey about the process of configuring access permissions in TYPO3. Our goal is to understand your experiences, challenges, and suggestions for improvement, so that we can create a roadmap for Access Control List (ACL) improvements.

As part of our ongoing commitment to enhance the capabilities and user experience of TYPO3, we are excited to delve into one of the core aspects of our system: Access Control Lists. Our budget idea is dedicated to making significant improvements in this area, ensuring that TYPO3 continues to provide robust, flexible, and intuitive access control options for all users.

Why Focus on ACL Improvements?

Access control is a fundamental feature of any content management system. It determines how different users interact with the system, what they can access, and what actions they can perform. In TYPO3, we've always taken pride in offering a powerful and granular ACL system. However, we believe there's always room for improvement – to make it even more user-friendly, versatile, and aligned with the evolving needs of our community.

We Need Your Insights!

To achieve this, your input is invaluable. Whether you're a developer, a content manager, or an end-user, your experiences and perspectives are crucial in guiding the direction of our development efforts. We want to hear about your challenges, your wishes, and your ideas for a better ACL system in TYPO3.

Participate in Our Short Survey

To gather your feedback effectively, we've created a short survey. It won't take more than a few minutes to complete, but your responses will have a long-lasting impact on the future of TYPO3's ACL functionality.

Share Your ACL Insights!

What Happens Next?

Once we collect all the feedback, our team will analyze the insights and use them to outline the roadmap for ACL improvements. We're committed to transparency and will keep you updated on our progress and how your feedback is shaping the future of TYPO3's ACL features. Feel free to contact the authors in the #acl-nextgen channel on TYPO3 Slack.
