TYPO3 Core

June 12th was a big release day! The core team released TYPO3 8.7.16 and 7.6.29, which are maintenance releases with improvements. Read more

The outstanding aspects of TYPO3 9.3 are SEO features "out of the box", new options to make it easy to comply with GDPR, and added support for stronger password hashing functions, which hardens security even more. Read more

In early May, the TYPO3 Company sent a customer satisfaction survey to all their Extended Long Term Support (ELTS) 6.2 business customers. The results show a clear demand for a third year of ELTS 6.2. Read more

TYPO3 Association and TYPO3 Company

The German, Frankfurt-based digital consultancy comwrap is now both a platinum member of the TYPO3 Association and a Full Service Business Partner of TYPO3 Company. Their decision to simultaneously join the two top-tier offerings is a firm statement of support for TYPO3 CMS, and an unambiguous signal to their clients. Read more

The board of the TYPO3 Association meets regularly to discuss the strategic direction of the TYPO3 project. In June, the board reviewed and updated their roadmap for 2018. Read more

Events

The 9th TYPO3camp Berlin 2018 took place from June 1st to 3rd. The session live stream can be found on YouTube. the nice guys from jweiland.net have summarized the event. Read more (German only)

The TYPO3 Developer Days took place June 21st to 24th in Düsseldorf, Germany. You can already check out the presentation slides from most of the sessions, and the uncut live video streams on YouTube. Keep an eye out for edited versions coming soon. Read more

Development

TYPO3 CMS includes automated testing options to ensure quality with unit and functional tests. For some time, it’s also been possible to run acceptance tests. If you want to know how to test functionality of the backend with acceptance tests, follow this tutorial by Daniel Siepmann. Read more

dkd, maintainer of the awesome Solr extension for TYPO3 has published a new major version of their More Like This add on that can be added to a page and shows content, that is similar to that page in order to offer interesting content to the user.
