Updating our own website 9.3 -> 9.5 was a piece of cake though there is not much in it and now its even less since i don't need RealURL and TYPO3_DB Compat anymore. Thanks for the great work

Here are some first impressions.
NITSAN shared what features they LOVE the most coming in with TYPO3 v9 LTS.
NITSAN put the SEO and Friendly URL features at the top of their list. This brings the management of two widely-used popular features into the core. For them, TYPO3 v9 equals “Easy to Upgrade - Heaven for Developers.” NITSAN also highlighted the new editor-friendly features. These features will shine in the daily maintenance of a TYPO3 site. As they said,
“... post-development and launch, the non-technical editors are the key people who will work with the site on a daily basis.”
They also pointed out TYPO3 v9 LTS came out on the same date as Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday, so they celebrated together. They even released a cool banner for their release party.
TYPO3 9 says "Hello World"! Ladies and Gentleman, Heartly Welcome to one of the most powerful version in TYPO3's History - TYPO3 v9 LTS https://typo3.org/article/typo3-v9-lts-you-re-the-one-that-i-want @typo3 @TYPO3Assoc #TYPO3 #TYPO3LTS #9LTSQA #TYPO3 pic.twitter.com/2vNX8K725g

They note they are still looking to the future, especially for “Front-end Editing” someday within the TYPO3 core. Good news about front-end editing came from core contributor Benni Mack. There is already a solution available in the TER (TYPO3 Extension Repository)!
I'm truly sorry we couldn't get #FrontendEditing into #TYPO3 v9 but I'm very happy that @MattiasDev + @pixelantnet put a new version into TER - available for everyone for v9 #LTS already

Richard Haeser highlights some of the under-the-hood improvements in TYPO3 CMS.
Richard gave a behind-the-scenes insight into some of the changes. He acknowledged the lack of URL routing in TYPO3 CMS core was a sore spot for a long time. There were third-party extensions, but Richard thinks the final solution in the core is even better.
“I really like the decision to implement PSR-15 for handling the requests. By using concepts from outside the TYPO3 world, it will lower the barrier for non-TYPO3 developers to onboard in TYPO3 projects.”
As an added bonus, a change like this will make his day-to-day work easier. “It will definitely shorten the start of a new TYPO3 project.”
TYPO3WORX highlights the changes in administration and site management in TYPO3 v9.
TYPO3WORX focused on developer experience improvements. The new role of system maintainer and new site management capabilities mean both installation and maintenance will change. Upgrades have become even easier with the extension scanner. The environment module will help to monitor and report on the system.
“The new role of a system maintainer gives much more flexibility and security than sharing the install tool password.”
Overall this makes TYPO3 easier to manage and securely maintain.
Deborah at Islandart looked at how the new TYPO3 is for designers.
Deborah is an intern at her agency and already finding out what is happening with the new release. One of the things she likes about the new admin tools is that previewing your site is easier now. There are set screen sizes to demo what your site will look at on different devices, but you’re not limited to those.
“Some standard formats are already available, but individual pixel data can be put in as well.”
She referenced the playlist of TYPO3 v9 tutorial videos, which show you tips and tricks about using the new features.
TRITUM considered is it time to upgrade TYPO3 CMS?
TRITUM looked at what this new version means for the site owners currently wondering if it’s time to upgrade. They pointed out the main release highlights and dozens of improvements to TYPO3 Form Framework which is something they manage at TRITUM.
TYPO3 is known for being easy to update and upgrade. But sometimes it’s time to do a total redesign from the bottom up.
“A redesign is more cost effective if the website was not regularly updated and upgraded and the core still uses TYPO3 4.”
You may want a redesign if you want a design overhaul, new navigation, or mobile optimization.
When you communicate the benefits of this new version of TYPO3 to your customers, you can remind them about your services, expertise, and the guidance available. Even if it’s not time to upgrade now, it’s good for your customers to know how active and reliable the TYPO3 community is.

By testing TYPO3 v9 early on, they built a proof of concept and tested new versions of TYPO3 in the wild. We can thank these early adopters for blazing a trail.
Look at this gorgeous site for Social Impact Partners, done in TYPO3 v9. This was built by Digital Dock and even their own site is TYPO3 v9!
And look at this beauty for Nuernberg Digital Festival! They built this in TYPO3 v9.3 and they’ll be upgrading soon.
Are you running TYPO3 v9 already? We’d love to hear from you! Reply on social media with #TYPO3LTS, or write a blog post. What features or aspects of v9.x do you think it's worth upgrading for? Do you have any tips for people considering the upgrade?
