So, what's changed in this release?
General
Integrated results of T3UXW09
From November 14th through 21st the TYPO3 User eXperience Week 2009 (T3XUW09) focused on improving the usability of TYPO3 in general. Two issues haven been integrated directly into TYPO3 4.3 as result:
- The backend login has been given an updated look and feel that more intuitively shows the login status and any resulting errors.
- The skinning of Ext JS widgets (ex. recycler and mass file uploader) has been improved to match TYPO3's default t3skin more closely.
More than 30 issues fixed
In addition to the previously mentioned changes, more than 30 issues have been fixed in the last week. The most important bugfixes are:
- A bug in the method that secures URLs for the backend frames was fixed. With some older PHP 5.2 versions, this bug resulted in a "page not found" error in the backend.
- Mismatched character encodings between content rendering and external TyposScript files sometimes resulted in a "no template found" error, but this bug is now fixed.
Next steps to climb the TYPO3 4.3 hill
Please test this Release Candidate as much as possible, especially the new features from the previous alpha and beta releases!
If you're upgrading from a previous TYPO3 version, please be sure to execute the database analyzer and update wizard in the TYPO3 Install Tool.
If no new major issues appear that will crash a TYPO3 installation, we will release the final version of TYPO3 4.3 on November 28th 2009.
