On 22 May, the TYPO3 core team released new releases for all TYPO3 branches since TYPO3 6.2. There is also a new release for the ELTS customers. The release mainly introduced features for IP anonymization to help TYPO3 integrators make their sites GDPR compliant. Read more

The 8th TYPO3camp Stuttgart took place from 27 to 29 April at the University of Hohenheim. Read more (German only)

For the first time, there was a TYPO3camp in Switzerland. More than 50 participants made this a successful start. The 2019 event is already planned.
Eight developers from all over Italy came together to contribute to the TYPO3 Core. They were joined by two Germans — Mathias Schreiber, CEO of the TYPO3 GmbH, and Susanne Moog as representative of the TYPO3 Core Team. Read more

"MATE" (Magento And TYPO3 Environment) is a generic e-commerce platform with extensive possibilities for rich and flexible content. The platform is a communication layer between the e-commerce capabilities of Magento 2 and the user-friendly enterprise content management of TYPO3 CMS. Read more

The TYPO3 extension suggestions this month cover a lot of GDPR topics as well:
Georg Ringer has published EXT:gdpr to help you randomizing or removing privacy related data. Furthermore it provides a CLI to randomize records after given time and gives an overview and status of forms provided by form extensions. Last, but not least, it improves privacy for included YouTube & Vimeo videos.
The Avalex extension displays an automatically generated and updated “Data Privacy Statement” within a TYPO3 web site. Read more
EXT:video_shariff provides more privacy when embedding videos in frontend. Read more
