Regular maintenance release schedule

The TYPO3 Core team has a <link>fixed roadmap for sprint releases of the current development cycle. This makes it transparent and plannable for everybody in the TYPO3 Community to know when to expect a next sprint release. As for the regular maintenance releases the TYPO3 Core team is now releasing a schedule for the next updates as well, which we will stick to for the time being.

The 7 LTS branch will receive regular bug fixes until April 2017, after that, only security-related or critical issues will be put into a next maintenance version if necessary. Please note, that if an urgent issue pops up, we will release without prior notice if necessary. Security releases that will affect all supported versions, which includes the v7 series (until November 2018), the v8 series (supported until April 2020) and the 6.2 branch (supported with security issues until March 2017), will be released at the same time on all branches (v8, v7, 6.2).
