Public Profile Pages Now Available on my.typo3.org

A laptop screen displays a profile page on an orange-themed website. The profile includes a circular photo of a person with long hair, a biography section, and icons for certifications.
You can now benefit from improved organic visibility with a personal profile page, optionally showcasing your bio, contact information, and achievements — everything protected by fine-grained privacy settings.

Public profiles are an opportunity to showcase who you are and what you do to the rest of the TYPO3 community and beyond.

What’s Included in the Profile

  • Name and username
  • Title highlighting your official role in the TYPO3 community or your business
  • Personal photo, similar to LinkedIn and other social media
  • Biography section where you can include more information about yourself, your roles, and your areas of expertise
  • TYPO3 Certifications
  • Association membership level
  • Links to other social media profiles
  • Personal or business website links

Detailed privacy settings allow you to adjust the visibility of each item on your profile.

  • Public: Visible to any profile viewer
  • Logged-In: Visible only to logged-in users on my.typo3.org
  • Private: Not visible to anyone

Benefits of the Profile Pages

Your profile page can be an easily accessible and sharable home in the TYPO3 world. It can be found on search engines, giving you increased exposure to potential clients outside of the existing TYPO3 community too.

Additionally, profiles are meant to serve as a single source of truth on typo3.org, with any mention of you linking back to your personal profile page.

Links to the Outside

The Links section allows you to add links to web sites and profiles outside of the TYPO3 ecosystem. If you check the Highlight checkbox next to a link, it will be displayed below your name and title in your profile.

Select a type/icon for each of your links. In your public profile, these links will be optimized to show only the most important part of the url, such as your GitHub username instead of the entire URL to your GitHub profile.

Video Guide

To introduce you to the new profile page feature, we have created a video guide. The guide tells you how to set up and make the most out of your profile, in a narrated step-by-step walkthrough.

How Does Your Profile Look?

Start today: Log in at my.typo3.org and click View Public Profile, just next to your avatar. Your public profile is available at my.typo3.org/u/<username>

By logging in and out, you will notice that the profile looks different depending on your login status. If some of your information is already publicly available elsewhere on the web, it's a great idea to set its visibility to Public here too.
