Following the delayed release of TYPO3 CMS 6.2 LTS, support for TYPO3 4.7 will be extended.
Together with the postponement of TYPO3 CMS 6.2 LTS, it was also announced that support for TYPO3 4.5 LTS would be extended until March 2015. Today we publish an updated release overview, which contains the changes that have been announced earlier.
We will also extend the support for TYPO3 4.7 until October 2014. The extension happens because the release of TYPO3 6.2 LTS was delayed, in order to provide the same time for users to upgrade that was already planned before. This will give users 6 months of time to upgrade after the launch of TYPO3 6.2 LTS, which is now scheduled for March 2014 (see announcement).
Additional costs that result out of this extension will be covered by the TYPO3 Association, but can also be supported by individual sponsors. If you or your customers will benefit from the extended lifetime, then we would appreciate if you help us in sponsoring these efforts.
In summary, this means:
- Support for TYPO3 4.7 will be extended in accordance with the delayed release of TYPO3 6.2 LTS
- TYPO3 4.7 will get priority and security bugfixes until October 2014
- TYPO3 4.5 LTS will get priority and security bugfixes until March 2015
