Categories: Development, Security Created by Torben Hansen
It has been discovered that the extension "Content Consent" (content_consent) is susceptible to Insecure Direct Object Reference.

Problem Description

The extension fails to verify whether a specified content element identifier is permitted by the plugin. This enables an unauthenticated user to display various content elements, leading to an insecure direct object reference (IDOR) vulnerability with the potential to expose internal content elements.

Solution

Updated versions 1.0.3 and 2.0.2 are  available from the TYPO3 extension manager, packagist and at
https://extensions.typo3.org/extension/download/content_consent/2.0.2/zip
https://extensions.typo3.org/extension/download/content_consent/1.0.3/zip
Users of the extension are advised to update the extension as soon as possible.

Credits

Thanks to Niels Lehmkuhl for reporting the vulnerability and to Helmut Hackbarth for providing updated versions of the extension.
