We gathered impressions from TYPO3 Developer Days 2019 in Karlsruhe. Thank you to the speakers, sponsors, and attendees for making this a brilliant event.

TYPO3 is about collaboration and community. A very special part of the community experience is when you not only work in your own team but also work together with other teams and exchange ideas. During the Combined Sprint in August 2019 in Freiburg, the Server Team, Documentation Team, and Design Team met to bring TYPO3 forward together.

The multilingual backend has always been a great benefit of TYPO3. Whether you’re French, German, or English-speaking, having the editing and administrative user interface in a language you understand means you can work faster and more confidently. After a long history with Pootle, TYPO3 is moving on to Crowdin, to take translation to the next level.

The TYPO3 Conference 2019 gives you a chance to meet the people shaping this CMS for the future. New this year, the TYPO3 Conference is inviting attendees from business, government, NGOs, and higher education to join us for focused events that cater to their needs.

Thank you to everyone who submitted proposals this year! We’re delighted to announce the full schedule. This includes sessions, TYPO3 Certification, the TYPO3 Awards, and an afterparty. This year we’re also introducing summits to cater to people coming from business, government, and higher education. You’ll see more updates about that soon!

The Fluid 3.0 workshop has ended and it’s time to summarise what we achieved during the workshop and what to expect from the up-coming 3.0 version of Fluid.

Michael Schams has been an active member of the TYPO3 Community for more than a decade now. In May 2019 he published the third edition of the TYPO3 Extbase book. Michael worked with Patrick Lobacher on previous editions of the book, but since Patrick moved on to new challenges, Michael took over full responsibility in 2018 and published a fully revised and updated edition this year. Luisa Faßbender held an interview with Michael to find out more about the book and how it was created.
