TYPO3 is actively involved in local business development around the world, where the collaboration with the Rwandan government is probably the most well-known. Information and computer technology plays an important role in social-economic development, and open source software can be important for the growth of financial independence, civil society, and democracy.

The Tanzania Annual ICT Conference (TAIC) brands itself as one of the largest international gatherings of the ICT industry in Tanzania. It offers a platform for capacity building, policy dialogues, business investors networking, professional discussion, experience and knowledge sharing on the global ICT issues, business opportunities, knowledge, and skills needed to cope with the dynamic digital ecosystem. The conference is also a platform for ICT growth towards socio-economic development in Tanzania.
