TYPO3 announces special memberships for universities and research institutions

Categories: Press
The TYPO3 Association introduces a special membership type for universities and research institutions. Many academic institutions worldwide are already using the Content Management System (CMS) TYPO3. In Germany alone, approximately 460 public and private university websites are based on the CMS.
Memberships for universities and research institutions are tailored to their needs. In addition to full voting rights in official association elections, academic members can also vote in the <link>Academic Committee of the TYPO3 Association and receive reduced tickets for the TYPO3 University Days.
”The idea of an academic membership arose during the TYPO3 University Days last year. We were considering how the universities could support the TYPO3 Association in the future,“ said Daniel Fehrle, leader of the <link>Academic Committee. “Many universities have already announced that they want to register for membership.“
”Universities have different needs than commercial web agencies. Many academic institutions did not fit into the existing membership structure," explains Oliver Dobberkau, President of the TYPO3 Association. "I am proud that the Academic Committee has found a way to allow universities to strengthen TYPO3.”

Early birds save €250

Interested academic institutions can purchase the membership through the TYPO3 website. They can choose between three member types: Bronze (250 euros / year), Silver (500 euros / year) and Gold (1,000 euros / year). The one-time admission fee is 250 euros. The first 20 registrations before the end of May 2017, can save this admission fee by entering the coupon code ACADEMIC20T3A.
