Since the beta2 release over 300 patches went into the core. Thanks a lot to all contributors.
Of course the main focus was and still is to stabilize the new version and make it production ready. Fixes were done in many areas but most of them were related to the namespace change and the File Abstraction Layer (FAL).
Although feature freeze was in effect we made vey few exception for thing we did find important. The most prominent is that moving content elements in the page module is now finally possible with a simple drag and drop action. We also changed the default doctype for website rendering to HTML5 if none other is specified. The other features are related to FAL, making it possible to have FAL relations in Flexforms and store NULL values in the database. The latter is needed to distinguish between overriding a default value with an empty value and using the default default value.
There will be another release candidate RC2 which is scheduled one week before the final release which is November, 20th 2012. We plan to squash remaining gremlins until the final release and for that we need your feedback. So please
