We encourage everybody to upgrade to the latest LTS version <link>TYPO3 CMS 6.2, which serves as the best basis for existing and new sites running with TYPO3 CMS. Have a look at our <link record:tt_news:1817>new release cycle process for upcoming versions.

Please also note that all pending patches in our <link http: review.typo3.org>Reviewing System will be abandoned, all open bugs that affect only these branches will be resolved and marked as "Won't Fix" in the issue tracker.
