The TYPO3 community is pleased to announce the latest version of the TYPO3 CMS project which serves as another intermediate step towards the final TYPO3 CMS 7 LTS which will be released in fall 2015.

Introducing Mathias Schreiber as the main contact for getting people into the TYPO3 CMS development, as well as a non-coding person for un-blocking product-related topics and speeding up future-proof product development.

The TYPO3 Community announces the version 6.2.12 LTS of the TYPO3 Enterprise Content Management System.

Following the official maintenance policy and the one year extension of regular TYPO3 4.5 LTS support, the TYPO3 community now officially declares the regular TYPO3 4.5 LTS discontinued. TYPO3 6.2 LTS released one year ago supersedes 4.5 and is now the main and only LTS release officially supported. Next LTS will be 7 LTS to be released later this year.

For the next iteration on the way to TYPO3 CMS 7 LTS, which is named 7.2 and planned to be released on April 28th, 2015, the focus is on the frontend side of the TYPO3 system. Frontend, however, can mean a lot of areas. These are the areas were are going to touch

The TYPO3 CMS version 4.5, released in January 2011, was the first version having the label “Long Term Support” attached to it. After 4 years of support, we hope that everybody has upgraded to our latest version TYPO3 CMS 6.2 LTS (or to CMS 7 which has been released meanwhile). The LTS support is going to end on March 31st, 2015, which already includes only high priority and critical fixes related to browser and security. Still, version 4.5 is among the most popular TYPO3 versions on the web.
