This ownership model ensures a unique alignment between community-driven open source governance and commercial service delivery.

Hierarchical Overview

The organizational structure follows a clear hierarchical model:

  • The TYPO3 Association is the sole owner, responsible for defining strategy, governance, and funding priorities.
  • The Supervisory Board provides oversight, governance, and executive control on behalf of the Association.
  • The executive management team, led by the CEO and supported by the CTO and other senior leaders, is responsible for operational execution.
  • The company’s operational departments carry out the day-to-day work that delivers the TYPO3 Company's products and services.

It also reviews and approves financial statements, monitors the company’s financial health, and provides input on strategic initiatives and major product decisions.

By establishing reporting requirements for the management team, it ensures that the company remains aligned with the TYPO3 Association’s mission and values. In this role, it acts as a crucial bridge between the community and the company, safeguarding transparency, accountability, and long-term strategic consistency.

The management team supports the CEO. It includes a Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and department leads responsible for key functional areas such as development, communications, customer success, partnerships, and events.
