TYPO3 Association Election 2026

What is this Election About?

In 2026 three positions on the Board of the TYPO3 Association will be re-elected. In addition, there are two positions on the Business Control Committee (BCC) up for re-election.

The term of office expires this year for the following members of the Board and the BCC:

In the TYPO3 Association Board:

  • Boris Hinzer (Vice-President)
  • Stefan Busemann (Treasurer)
  • Rachel Foucard (Board Member)

In the Business Control Committee:

  • Jochen Weiland (BCC Member)
  • Roberto Torresani (BCC Member)

What Does the Work on the Board and the BCC Entail?

The Board takes care of the vision and the day to day business of the TYPO3 Association. Furthermore, the Board is part of the Supervisory Board of the TYPO3 GmbH.

The BCC works to increase transparency. It manages budgets and the application & contracting process. In addition, it monitors the TYPO3 Association's activities and finances to secure confidence and trust in both the processes and elected bodies of the TYPO3 Association.

The average time commitment for a role on the Board is at least four hours per week. For the BCC, it's at least two hours per week.

Why You Should Nominate Yourself

You don’t have to be a developer or software engineer to hold a position on the Board or BCC. If you are a dedicated member of the community and have a vision for the future of TYPO3, you will be a valuable asset to the team.

A breadth of work and life experience means that you can better represent the community and help make decisions that govern TYPO3 and its ecosystem.

Who Can Get Elected?

Starting from February  until 10 March 2026, any member of the TYPO3 can nominate themselves for the vacant positions. Please use only the official nomination form to submit your nomination:

Who Can Vote?

All positions of the Board and BCC are elected directly by the members of the TYPO3 Association. If you are a member, a voting token will reach you in March 2026. You can then cast your vote between 13th March and 27th March 2026.

If you are not yet a member of the TYPO3 Association, participating in this election is a great and exciting motivation to do so!

To be able to vote, you must be a member of the TYPO3 Association before and including 13th March 2026 and your membership has to be paid. Hurry up and get your membership today! Memberships start from €10/year.

Good to Know as a candidate

If you choose to accept your election, you must become a personal member of the TYPO3 Association. This membership can either be a Bronze Membership or a Community Membership. Owning  a  company membership does not make you a valid candidate.

 

Timeline

  • 30th January 2026: First announcement of the election
  • February 2026: Start of the online nomination
  • 10th March 2026: End of the nomination
  • 11th March 2026: Set up a discussion platform → members can ask questions
  • 11th March 2026: Second announcement of the election
  • 13th March 2026 Start of the online voting
  • 27th March 2025 at 23:59 (CET): End of the online voting
  • 22nd April 2026: General Assembly, which approves the result of the online voting
