TYPO3-SA-2011-007: SQL Injection vulnerability in extension Faceted Search (ke_search)

It has been discovered that the extension Faceted Search (ke_search) is vulnerable to SQL Injection.

Component Type: Third party extension. This extension is not a part of the TYPO3 default installation.

Affected Versions: Version 0.3.0 and all versions below

Vulnerability Type: SQL Injection

Severity: High

Problem Description: Failing to properly sanitize user-supplied input the extension is open to SQL Injection attacks. The vulnerability allows unauthenticated website visitors to access arbitrary database values.

Solution: An updated version 0.3.1 is available from the TYPO3 extension manager and at typo3.org/extensions/repository/view/ke_search/0.3.1/. Users of the extension are advised to update the extension as soon as possible.
