TYPO3-EXT-SA-2012-004: Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability in extension powermail for TYPO3 (powermail)

It has been discovered that the extension "powermail" (powermail) is vulnerable to Cross-Site Scripting

Component Type: Third party extension. This extension is not a part of the TYPO3 default installation.

Affected Versions: Version 1.6.4 and below

Vulnerability Types: Cross-Site Scripting

Severity: Medium

Release Date: March 28, 2012

 

Problem Description: Failing to properly sanitize user input, powermail is susceptible to Cross Site Scripting.

Solution: An updated version 1.6.5 is available from the TYPO3 extension manager and attypo3.org/extensions/repository/view/powermail/1.6.5/.
