"TYPO3 4.6 - It takes two!"

Categories: Development Created by Benjamin Mack

Moving forward with the development of our next version TYPO3 v4.6, and its goal to Rebase the TYPO3 Core, we will initiate an extended review and bugfixing session for two weeks, starting on May 26th, 2011. This means, that any developer (core-dev or not, doesn't matter) can contribute a huge part to 4.6 during that time.

And the best thing: You can join too. How? Commit yourself to two weeks of sending two issues to Gerrit, and reviewing two other issues within Gerrit - each day. We know it's tough, but it's worth it to make TYPO3 4.6 rock-solid.

My personal thing: Every day I will get up one hour early for the two weeks and do my commitment before the usual office hours - I will pick two issues from the<link http: forge.typo3.org projects typo3v4-core issues _blank>forge issue list, push them to <link http: review.typo3.org _blank>Gerrit and then go through the open issues in Gerrit and "cherry-pick" two other issues from there.
So, make the math and calculate: 20 developers, with each 2 new issues each day, for 14 days = 560 bugs fixed and merged into the HEAD branch of TYPO3 v4.

Well, how to get started? Set up your TYPO3 development environment, and pledge for the two weeks - by just sending out a comment on this blog entry.

Of course, all who commit to "It takes two!", go ahead and show up on the TYPO3 IRC-Channel on Freenode.
