With the short release cycle we have now we also have the need for a Long Term Support version. The release team consisting of Ernesto Baschny, Steffen Kamper and assisted by Benni Mack and Oliver Hader have laid down a stable base for our new release. You can look forward to a new module listing and page tree done with extJS (JavaScript). There is no need anymore for a complete refresh of the trees. There are a number of usability improvements. For uploading files in the Fileadmin area, a new uploader was integrated. It uses HTML5, Gears, Flash and a fallback to HTML4, so that all browsers will find a way of uploading files in the most comfortable way. We will support Internet Explorer 6 for this LTS. The extension manager is fully revamped and supports private repositories. This is just a small selection of what is coming. You will be fully briefed on wednesday the 26th.
