End of the Pending Documentation page

Categories: Development, Documentation Created by François Suter

Since (more or less) the dawn of time updates to the TYPO3 official documentation that reflected changes in the TYPO3 Core were temporarily stored in the wiki. This process will change.

Whenever a change in the TYPO3 source code has an impact on documentation (new feature, modified behavior, etc.), the relevant documentation changes have been stored in the famous Pending Documentation page in the TYPO3 wiki. This was never entirely satisfying. However since more than one year we have dedicated Forge projects for each official manual. This means that each manual has its own issue tracker.

Hence the Documentation Team and the Core Team have jointly agreed to drop usage of the Pending Documentation page. As of TYPO3 4.7 changes will be documented directly by creating issues in the bug trackers of the relevant manuals. The Pending Documentation page itself now provides guidelines about how to write a documentation change as well as some help for choosing the right bug tracker.

We hope you will appreciate this change and thank you in advance for your collaboration along this new process.
