DEV3 - TYPO3 and FLOW3 Development Tools for Eclipse

With "SweeTS" Eckhard M. Jäger had already created the first true development environment for TYPO3 and TypoScript. But although it contained many useful features, it was not yet a truly platform-independent solution which also lacked important interfaces which are necessary for a successful workflow. Sebastian Böttger took up the challenge to develop an Eclipse plugin which would assist a developer with important tasks for the development of TypoScript templates and TYPO3 v4 based extensions. At the same time David Brühlmeier started with his bachelor thesis which aimed to produce a development environment (DE) for the new FLOW3 framework and TypoScript 2.0, the object-oriented successor of our well-known configuration markup language. Sebastian and David now joined forces and - with the help of Eckhard - started working on a common DE which will support TYPO3 v4 development as well as TYPO3 v5 code, based on FLOW3. "DEV3" will be based on the PHP Developer Tools (PDT) and works well along with Aptana Studio.
