Boris Hinzer

Boris Hinzer

My name is Boris and I live with my wife and two teenage boys in a small town called Erkelenz near Mönchengladbach, Germany.

In my job I'm the manager of web-vision, a web agency which creates websites and web applications with TYPO3 and online shops with Magento. Additionally we offer surrounding services like server hosting, domains and so on. At our agency we are very dedicated to TYPO3.

During the last few years I've been constantly workiing in various ways for the TYPO3 project, like:

  • Developing the TYPO3 Merchandising Shop with our web agency
  • Moderating TYPO3 events like the Agency Meetup Days and organizing the TYPO3 #CertiFUNcation Day
  • Working and helping in various Teams

I’m part of the TYPO3 Marketing Team and the Education Committee, and was formerly the Leader of the TYPO3 Editorial Team.

With Daniel Siepmann I’ve helped to set up the TYPO3 Usergroup Northrhine / Euroegio.

During the last few years I’ve attended and worked at various TYPO3 sprints and projects.

Why I nominate myself for the election:

During the last two years I've already been a member of the EAB, which its main purpose was to organize and execute the budget process of the TYPO3 Association.

Since the TYPO3 GmbH aka T3 Inc was founded, I see a shift towards new, upcoming tasks for the TYPO3 Association.

During last months I already tried to help making them happen, like:

  • The TYPO3 & eCommerce Survey - where the results will soon be published in the TYPO3 Association Newsletter
  • Setup of the T3A Newsletter
  • The TYPO3 Marketplace initiative - also including the survey for it.
  • Organising the upcoming TYPO3 #CertiFUNcation Day

If you have further questions about me or my work for TYPO3, don’t hesitate to get in touch: boris.hinzer@typo3.org, Slack, Skype or even just give me a call.

Peter Pröll

Carsten Falkenberg

I am working with TYPO3 since 2004. From 2009 until 2012 I was member of the TYPO3 Association Board and played an active role in opening up the T3A to its members, removing the old Steering Committee, and introducing the Expert Advisory Board which is elected by the members.

Other work in the community includes my position as head of the TYPO3 Education Committee (since 2014)

I am an elected member of the Expert Advisory Board since 2012 and would love to continue my work, thus asking you to grand me your vote:

I am in for streamlining the current 2-board-situation (T3A Board and T3A Expert Advisory Board), as well as an even closer co-operation with the TYPO3 GmbH, and more professional services for members of the TYPO3 Association.

Petra Hasenau

Petra Hasenau

Coming from a background as an educated industrial manager and logistics specialist of the late 80s and having worked for major national and international enterprises and business consultancies, I entered the TYPO3 universe in 2009, when I founded the Cybercraft Media Manufactory together with my husband Jo.

I want to apply for a position of the vice president because I want to be a visible and approachable connector for people in- and outside of the TYPO3 community. This includes exchange of experiences with other open source communities by actively attending their events and meetings.

I want to be receptive to ideas and suggestions and motivate people to make themselves heard. I want to demonstrate that even as a female non coder you can move a lot within an open source community. Thus increasing the number of members and the diversity of our community.

In my spare time I like to walk with my dog in the forests around my hometown and you can find me reading a book or on the snowboard especially at many T3BOARDs as of 2009.

Ric van Westhreenen

In the last few years we’ve seen the beginning of a transformation within the TYPO3 Association from a great institution to becoming a more professional organisation. In the last 5 years that I have been appointed Vice-President, I have been running many unpopular items. I’ve made hard decisions, and said strong words. I have been responsible for making clear decisions regarding community management and the way it had been set up in the past. I have reformed the trademark rules, resulting in setting up a new and clear process, resulting in strong discussions with members who are using our trademarks in a way we do not want.

With my basis from the Netherlands, I always kept the Dutch community close and brought their concerns and ideas to the table, without choosing sides. That way, extending the voice of our international community.

As Vice-President you do not have a clear and clean-cut job. You have to form that job. With my experience as serial entrepreneur in many fields (internet agency, retail and consultancy), I have a broad experience on legal, IT, marketing, and sales. As born networker I’m able to bridge gaps between groups of people, and to find common ground. Even when people think there is none. I’m able to make complex things simple and small. That way I’m able to solve issues that seem difficult to solve. Nothing is to great to solve.

I like to continue the path I took with my fellow board members for the simple reason that my job is not finished yet. And we still have big issues to solve.

The work I started in my latest period as Vice-President is not done. We have to redefine the T3CON-event. A few months ago that became one of my tasks. We also have to find a way to manage all uses of our trademarks by members and non-members. For that I’ve started a new initiative of sublicensing that is almost finalised in legal form and after that can be implemented, and as such can make our trademark initiatives self-sustainable.

Therefor I ask the EAB to honour my re-nomination for an additional period as vice-president of the TYPO3 Association.
