Copenhagen - This year a new European CMS award has seen the light. On November 21'st, independent Danish consulting company BNP Consulting handed out awards to the vendors of the content management systems (CMS) currently leading the European market. TYPO3 has won no less then three awards in this competition.

In Copenhagen two types of awards were introduced within different categories of importance to potential buyers. 'Leader awards' are given to the vendors of the best systems, 'Challenger awards' are for upcoming CMSes which are very close to the best in the market.

These CMS awards are the first of its kind. With the awards the company wants to acknowledge best practices within the CMS world for the benefit of potential users. 38 leading CMS and portal vendors were selected to participate in this years first analysis. From April to August 2006 vendors did provide a large amount of information about their services and products. Over 14.000 pages of information about the 38 systems had to be analysed resulting in an abstract containing the main conclusions and trends within the European CMS market.

An impressive line-up of international system vendors were present at the award show in Copenhagen to collect their awards. Kasper Skårhøj personally collected the Leader Award in the category "Community" as well as two Challenger Awards in "Development Environment" and "3rd party integration". The awards were handed out by BNP's director Per Nygaard. Kasper talked in his speech about the TYPO3 community, how it affects the system and which factors make it grow and prosper.

Among the companies winning Leader awards present at the award show were Tridion (Holland), Sitecore (Denmark), Mediasurface (England) and Fatwire (USA).
