TYPO3 Association extraordinary General Assembly

Categories: Association Created by Søren Schaffstein
On May 10th and 11th the TYPO3 Associations Board and Steering Committee (SC) met in Munich for an extraordinary General Assembly. As planned on the regular General Assembly in March the new bylaws had been prepared and voted for.
With the new bylaws now in effect the following changes are the most important to mention:
1. We introduced a new committee called the Business Control Committee (BCC) which is elected directly by the members of the TYPO3 Association. Board and Steering Committee members may not vote on the members of this committee since the idea of the BCC is to check funded projects.
2. Voting rights in the TYPO3 Association changed a bit: Every Board member now has a voting right which gives the whole Board 6 votes. Additionally Board members are not allowed to be Steering Committee members and vice versa any more. The Steering Committee now also has 6 votes in total. The SC can consist of more than six people though.
3. The Steering Committee now has a Product Manager: Ben van 't Ende
4. Eike Diestelkamp and Kian Gould are new members of the Steering Committee.
5. Evangelists are introduced in the bylaws as people who will support TYPO3 in their local region.

All details can be found in the new bylaws which will be available on association.typo3.org soon.

Thanks a lot to Open Source Press in Munich for hosting this event!
