TYPO3 Agency Meetup Days 2015 – A report on the Frankfurt meeting

Categories: Community, Marketing Created by Naike Schulthess
The fourth of the 11 TYPO3 Agency Meetup Days (T3AMDs) planned for 2015 took place on September 10 in Frankfurt.

Participants

At the Frankfurt meetup 6 different agencies have gathered, with a total of 8 representatives. They have met Alain Veuve and Fabian Stein from the TYPO3 Marketing Team, Mathias Schreiber and Anja Leichsenring from the TYPO3 CMS core team, and Naike Schulthess and Olivier Dobberkau from the TYPO3 Association. The agencies' representatives at the Frankfurt meetup had varied roles within their organizations: project managers, redactors, developers, and business or sales managers. One common goal of the participants seemed to be their need to give TYPO3 a more important role within the users' base.

The Agenda

1. Introductions

Just like any other event, each of these two T3AMDs have started with a general introduction on the event, of the participants, and of the agencies they represent.

2. One-year retrospective

For more information on the one-year retrospective presentation of Alain Veuve, have a look at the report on the report of the <link http: typo3.org news article typo3-agency-meetup-days-2015-a-report-on-the-copenhagen-and-berlin-meetings _blank>TYPO3 Agency Meetup Day in Copenhagen. To be added to this is that the Scenario 3 and the plan for the "TYPO3 Inc." will be presented just before Christmas to the public. The first <link http: typo3.org news article driving-the-typo3-restructuring-project _blank>strategic thoughts have been published already.

3. Marketing Material

Fabian Stein has presented the development done within the marketing team since the beginning of 2015. The style guide has been presented, together with the created marketing collaterals, and with the idea of the merchandise shop. Each participant received a copy of the marketing collaterals and could give spontaneous and open feedback to the team. Once again, the need for having marketing material that is country-specific (translated into different languages) was underlined.

4. A look into the future

This section of the agenda has been shaped in form of a workshop. Each participant could write down a list of things he or she expected from the TYPO3 Marketing Team. To name few of the expressed wishes and ideas: establishing regular TYPO3 Users day (non-technical events), create professional videos about TYPO3, have presentation slides ready (templates) to be used for clients meetings. Again, few elements that have been heard at the other Agency Meetup Days have been pinned to the board: the need for factsheets that compare TYPO3 to other CMS players in the market and for joining forces in having stands at larger events where TYPO3 should be present (ex: CEBIT).

5. TYPO3 CMS

Mathias Schreiber has presented TYPO3 CMS 7 to the participants, explaining that one main focus of the core team was to make the life of a TYPO3 editor a bit easier and the participants had the possibility to ask questions and get direct answers to their concerns and feedback. Contribution is always wanted so join the TYPO3 CMS Codesprints any time you can! -- The next TYPO3 Agency Meetup Days will take place in Utrecht and Munich, both on September 24.
