#3 Implement Single Signon for Trac

Status: Lingewoud B.V. is working on it.

Introduction

We love to use Trac for organizing our Subversion commits and tickets. As more and more users register accounts at our installation we have to think about how to deal with them. It's desirable to use the user database we have at typo3.org which makes it easier to map a username to a certain person. Above all we'd like to improve the user experience by providing a single signon solution.

Task Description

We already have a SSO server at typo3.org which we use for bugs.typo3.org and association.typo3.org. Although several adaptors exist for this solution, there is none yet for use with Trac. The goal therefore is to develop a SSO adaptor for as a Trac module.

We suggest the following steps:

Update (06.12.): I just found an OpenID plugin for Trac, maybe that helps developing our own module.
