Service Announcement: New mailserver for typo3.org

Categories: Community Created by TYPO3 Server Team
We are about to migrate the typo3.org email server to a new provider. Owners of a @typo3.org email address need to take action.
The migration is going to take place on Monday, 5th of October 2015.
If you own a @typo3.org email address then you should have received an email with further instructions by September 24. The migration needs your action, as you have to
  • set a new password
  • setup the new account within your mail client
  • migrate or backup your old emails if you want to keep them
If you did not receive this email, please get in touch with us. Timeline:
  • today: the new accounts are in place and ready to use to send and store mails (Beware: incoming mails are still delivered to the current, old infrastructure)
  • 5th of October 2015: MX record switch, incoming mails are delivered to the new infrastructure
  • 31th of October 2015: The old mail server is still available at mail.t3o.punkt.de until this date
Please make sure that you migrate all your old emails to the new server within this month.
Please also use the mentioned SMTP server for sending emails instead of your own server. We will likely set up SPF records soonish.
In case of any trouble, feel free to contact us via the #typo3-server-team
Slack channel, Twitter (<link https: twitter.com typo3server>@TYPO3server) or email (<link>admin@typo3.org).
We want to thank punkt.de and esp. Patrick Hausen and Wolfgang Zenker for hosting and maintaining the previous mail server during the last years.
