1.1. Introduction

What does it do?

This extension have two general goals:

  1. it adds special explanatory markup to acronyms, abbreviations and foreign words on the whole site following the requirement to accessible web content and

  2. it provides a plugin to list all glossary entries on one page with a possibility to link all occurances of a word on the website to their explanation in the glossary.

It can be used on multilanguage sites, it is highly configurable and extendable (e.g. new HTML elements for explanatory markup) and shows good performance.

Be careful with the linking functionality – it is experimental yet and does not work always as expected.

Differenz to the orginal A21GLOSSARY

  1. Provides the ability to exclude certain tags from either being linked or being processed at all. (See configuration section)

  2. More reliable regular expressions

  3. Provides the ability to exclude certain parts of the website from being processed. (See configuration section)
