
This extension is meant to boykott the browser Internet Explorer 6 because it is not W3C-conform; that means he doesn't know web-standards.
This extension is based on TypoScript and has different modes.
If you are the owner of your domain, you can choose if you do not want to support the old IE6 any more, which doesn't know CSS-Basics like Selectors and makes different faults with the Box Model of the W3C and...
But do not install this extension for customers who have worthy customers thereselves who still use the “fabulous” browser IE6. But if you are free to choose if you want to support IE6, this is the perfect extension for you.
All links on the website are replaced with a defined external Web-Address (Constant ie6boykott_linkExtDest – e.g. http://www.mozilla.org) [JavaScript needed]. So if you click any link, you can guide your users to a webpage, where they can install a newer browser.

All links on the website are replaced with a defined internal link (Constant ie6boykott_linkUid – UID e.g. 987) [JavaScript needed]. On this page you can inform the users, that they are using an old browser and which priviledges they have in using a newer and safer one. Further links to good browsers would be suitable (of course this page would be “Hide in Menu”.
It looks normal like in Mode 1, but all links are replaced with an internal link. Here an example of a destiny-page:
Mode 3 – Message instead of output
No output of the website is provoked. Instead a message is displayed on the plain webpage (Constant ie6boykott_outputmessage_en for English and ie6boykott_outputmessage_de for German output – many lines with HTML-Code possible) [no JavaScript needed]. Here you can inform the users like in Mode 2.
Output of the Plugin Templa-Voilá is cleared and new Output is displayed (see the FAQ Section to see how to delete other parts, that could be displayed in your TYPO3-System):
