Do you want to sponsor a bug? Just write the amount of money in the "Sponsor bug" field of the issue you want to sponsor. The minimum amount is 30 euros.
You'll then find your sponsored bugs in the "My Account"->"My Sponsorships" - section in the bugtracker.
Then just wait for a developer to pick up the bug and fix it. The bug is considered fixed and the money has to be transferred when
Payment has to be negotiated between you and the developer. We suggest using IBAN/SWIFT or payment methods like PayPal.
Technical communication between you and the developer should happen as bugnotes attached to the bug.
To get in contact because of the payment details, we suggest you exchange your email adresses via bug notes as well.
You'll see the current status of the transactions again in the "My Account"->"My Sponsorships" - section.
Generally, the whole system is based on trust. Please don't abuse it.
So you want to fix a bug which is sponsored? Great! If this is your first sponsored bug, please write a short message to the development newsgroup where you state that you want to be activated for sponsorship, and please mention the bug number you want to fix.
We will then activate you for the sponsoring feature and you can assign the bug to you.
Please then fix the bug, create a patch, and when you think everything is ready, upload the patch to the bugtracker and announce it on the the development newsgroup. If no core developer answers, don't stop bothering them until somebody takes over the task of bringing the fix into the core. (In case of an extension, ask the extension author instead.)
To receive your money after the fix is in the core, send the details for the money transaction to every sponsor.
After you received the money, set the status in the "My Account"->"My Sponsorships" page accordingly. Then the transaction is finished.
In case of problems, please discuss that in the bug team newsgroup. We will then help you in any way we can.
Tip: You can easily search for sponsored bugs by
sorting the bugs list by sponsoring amount.
