TYPO3 congress Netherlands

The Dutch <link http: www.typo3congres.nl>TYPO3 congress brought 30% more people then the previous year, totalling 180 people. Quite a number of TYPO3 enthusiasts joined this event, which is indicative for the increasing community activity we can all observe throughout the TYPO3 community with code prints and TYPO3camps popping up all around us. The first TYPO3camp in the Netherlands for the coming year was also announced. It will be on March 9-10, 2013 in Venlo.   Unique this year was the cooperation with the Dutch TYPO3 municipality users association, <link http: www.typo3gem.nl>TYPO3gem. This association has <link http: www.typo3gem.nl wij leden typo3-overheden>40 municipalities as members ranging from small to big municipalities serving about 2 million Dutch citizens. TYPO3gem held it's general meeting at the event and a lot of government specific presentations were held where municipalities showed of what is going on with TYPO3 and municipalities. TYPO3gem was not the only non-commercial player around. A big public broadcasting company also showed the process from 120 websites to one portal using TYPO3. The congress was fortunate enough to have our very own Dutch contributor to Neos and Flow, Rens Admiraal, to deliver two presentations about new developments in the TYPO3 Family. With 180 attendants, 27 speakers and 23 presentations this event was quite an achievement, especially when realising the event is organised by 5 companies that are basically competitors in the small country The Netherlands is. Kudos go out to the organising companies: alterNET, Drecomm, ROQUIN, WIND and Zig Websoftware and to the Dutch TYPO3 municipality users association TYPO3gem for organising this event.
